engine ticking...NEED HELP

so my engine is a 4.0 liter and it always runs fiine but latley on seldom occasions when i first start my yj up and start going i hear the engine making a ticking sound...but the thing i dont get is that it stops making the ticking sound once it warms up just a couple of minutes into the drive...what could be causing this?

Common issue. Hydraulic lifters sometimes drain down when parked. don't sweat it, it can go for a long time like that.

My 4.0L sounds like a diesel and it has 295k miles. I just do routine maintenance. I think you're motor is fine.

yeah my motors only got 119k on it so it should have no problems...ive heard this problem can be caused by the valves though
