Engine skid plate

I'm just about done with my 350/sm465 swap and I've cut the front sway bars out already and was looking at how open the underside of my engine bay was to mud rocks and water and was wondering what kind of skid I could make to better protect my engine bay. what have you guys done in the past that works?

I havent done it yet. BUT I have a piece of 3/16" steel that I am going to reinforce with some channel and extend it off of my flat tranny skid. It wont keep mud and water out. (You would really have to get creative on that one) But I will keep rocks away from my crank shaft.

It's basically going to be 18" wide and cover up to around the pulley.

I know I won't be able to keep it all out but I'd like to keep things as clean and dry as I can. Would you care to post a pic of what you have?

Can't. I haven't done it yet. It's kind of low on my priority list. Maybe this winter I'll get after it.

Sent from my phone because I'm doing something "more important"

A good starting point. I fabbed this for my Jeep and love it... I'm sure you can adjust it for your engine..

That's basically what I plan to do with mine.
