electrical puzzle 4 to 6 swap

4 to six swap I have 6 in and connected but no fire from coil,Does anyone have a trouble shoot guide to coil and distrubitor,I do have power at coil but no fire when engine is turned and no code at obd.thanks

need a little more info.. did you use the wiring from the new motor or did you use the old harness and add 2 injector wires? Please fill out your jeep profile as well.

Used the wiring harness that was on the newer 6 cyl and power control module with the s cyl

you do realize that the 2 connectors will plug into each other however the wire locations dont match up?

Sorry I have the pcm that came with the 6 cyl, and can retrieve code with ignition switch, reads 54 which is the distributor pick up

did you rewire the bulk head since the pinouts are different between them?

No did not change bulk head wires where can i find a diagram to show changes needed

So you have a 54 error. Did you used the distributor from the new engine? Was it running when you pulled it? Did you use the flywheel from the new engine? Check the connector at the distributor. Make sure the pins are making good contact.

Que I thought that the bulkhead connectors were pinned differently also?

No. The difference on the bulkhead is on the 91 & 92. 93 to 95 are the same. If the harness from the inside and engine are both 93 to 95 it should be ok.

Thanks for your help ,i tested the wiring from distributor to the pcm found grnd was not at right pin location, it had changed color in wiring going across firewall,routed gnd to the front and connected to the gnd in the harness , then found code 11 and replaced the crankshaft sensor, finally she fired up,still connecting rest of the hoses and need a shorter drive shaft.
