Dropping the fuel tank.....

We are dropping the fuel tank to put in a new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator. Any other projects we should undertake as long as the tank is dropped?

Get new hose to replace the old stuff. MAybe a few hose clamps in case one breaks. Of course, a new fuel filter too.

This would be a great time to install an after market bumper if you do not have one. Or install some brackets on the inside of the rear cross member to strength it.

Yep, got the fuel filter too. What about the float? Is that an easy replacement?

Get a new fuel sending unit seal. They are cheap and its a good time to change it.

+ for the 20gal mod
+ for all new hoses

Frame to Shackle Bushings...unless you cut the bolt, it's difficult or impossible to get that bolt out past the gas tank.

If you see a square plastic container (in the tank) that the fuel pump sits into you may want to rip it out. I say this because they will warp and bow in causing your float to hang up and only read 1/4 or 1/2 tank.

I did that 7 or 8 years ago with no issues and it fixed my stuck gas gauge.

I will second this suggestion. This seal is a major leaker if it is factory, I think they had a recall on this part. Mine was crumbling apart.

Replace rollover valve grommets. They get old and brittle and can leak.

I wondered why the baseball kept getting bigger and bigger....then it hit me!

I also made an access plate, may never need to drop tank again!

If it's not supposed to move and does use duct tape.
If it's supposed to move and doesn't use WD40

Check and replace the wiring harness plug. They tend to corrode and make your Jeep stop / sputter.
