driveshaft noise on 2000 Wrangler

Have a 2000 Wrangler Sport that makes a very strange sound on occasion. Those occasions being right after the car has been running at highway speeds (50-60MPH) or when it is on an incline. A "torque-ing" noise (like you are overtightening a screw ?) is heard from the driveshaft close to the rear differential. Doesn't always occur but enough that it makes me worry that the driveshaft is not true or that something is amiss where it enters the differential. Any ideas anyone ?
