I just put a BDS 3 1/2" lift on, front springs all around. 1" lift boomerang shackles front and rear. No TC drop and SYE. I installed 6 deg axle shims as a starting point. I now have 75 deg on the axle and 61 deg on the drive shaft. To get to 3 deg at the pinion joint I need to get rid of 11 deg. I'm needing new motor mounts so I'm thinking MML. Drown Dog has 1", 1.5" and 2". First question is how much shaft angle can I remove with a MML? Second question is for every deg I go up with an axle shim how much will it remove from the pinion to shaft angle?

I run bds 3.5 with booms and 1 inch Mml. I don't recall what angle I ultimately set the pinion but I ended up cutting the perches and rewelding to correct location. The shims that it was gonna require would have been excessively thick and wouldn't allow the spring pins to reach into the axle perches. I'm sure you could buy longer pins but it made more since to do it this way to me. Less trial and error with different degree shims.

I'm running 8 degree with a 4.5 RE lift, no mml. I was told to expect at least 6 degrees. I was running 3 degrees with my old 2" lift so it seems on my jeep about 1.5/1.7 degree shim per inch of lift or minus the same amount for mml or TC drop...if I'm figuring right.

acat, I'd rather not cut and reweld the perches, I'll save that for when I do an 8.8 swap.
Reno72, do you have a SYE and CV drive shaft?

Yes AA SYE (not super short shaft) and East County CV driveshaft

That's the same SYE I have. I'm mainly looking for how much angle change the MML will give me so I know which one to order.
