Drain plugs

Anyone ever succesfully modified the drain plugs in there Jeepsothe stay in? Mine had a set when i bought it but the gaskets on 'em were shot and after i took 'em out once they always popped out. So I bought a new set a few months ago ($3 a piece and I have like 10 holes too!), they've come out again. Especcially annoying is the one by the drivers seat near the pedals. Every time you go through a puddle the back of your leg gets soaked! I asked the guy at the Jeep dealership(learned long ago to avoid the dealer if at all possible), if you could use the ones out of a new Jeep, the rubber plugs, but he said the plug was smaller than the hole or something. Has anyone found a good solution to this quirk, has anyone else even had this problem, or is this another case of Amos being mad at me for not playing with him enough?


'87 YJ,4.2L 6cyl(rebuilding someday) On 33" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, (unlifted, but big lift in store, when I get some $$$)upgraded clutch and brakes, broken loud stereo.(Can't imagine how that....COUGH!..WATER....happened. Haven't used a top doors or windshield in uh,.....hmm.... since midwinter? That sounds right.

I bought hard plastic ones at Home Depot in the "Fasteners" section, identical size and shape to factory. Cost under a buck each, never come out.
