doors

so i found a set of doors that look good and are a decent price. I was wondering if doors from an '86 fit my '94. it has the paddle handle on the outside which leads me to think that they will. if someone can answer this for me i would really apreachiate it.

Since I am on crack right now, I will try to answer this one too.

CJ7 doors and hardtop will fit your YJ. That is exactly how my YJ is set up right now.

Here is a kicker, the doors off of a TJ will work on the YJ as well. But The top of a TJ will NOT fit a YJ.

Anyone else want to chime in???

TJ doors will not fit on a YJ, the latch is higher on the YJ than the TJ. I guess you can move the jam lower on the tub to make it work because other than that they fit the tub. CJ doors will fit I believe

Older cj7 doors have a different latch mechanism. I dont remember the years, but my 85 doors work and have the same latch as my 94.

The latch is easy to change and cheap. Yes they will fit.

Post-78 CJ7 doors will fit a YJ, any earlier and the windshield angle is too far back. They use a different striker too, the CJ uses a wedge striker and the YJ uses a post striker. Not a huge deal, just grind the old striker off and weld/bolt the proper striker on.

Idk about the TJ doors though, and obviously CJ5 doors are completely out.

I just got the same ones off ebay, from the same seller. They recently changed the design so it fits better (I found out after I hacked up the passenger side already). But his customer service is great, I sent in the old driver side and he sent me the new one for free.

In the end, they will work, but might require some slight modification which I feel is to be expected as you are doing body work.
