door won't open

I have had problems with my door not working. (92 full doors). I take the pannel off, remove the metal plate, then pull the rods manually and then it opens. This time it won't open, no matter how I pull the inside mechinism. It just will not open, I tried a screwdriver to pry open the thing, but it won't open. I'm going to buy a new mechinism but I have to get the door open to take the old one out first ..help
btw they sure are made crappy...

I didn't mean Jeep's were made crappy, just the door latch mechinism, it's stamped mild steel and plastic.

Lots of lube(WD40)
Mine were all gunked up and wouldn't lock or open or unlock for that matter. Clean them first.
