Does the temp gauge sometimes go bad?

It's stuck on cold and raises just a tad.I did replace the sensor and still the same...

Pull your gauge cluster and clean the ribbon cable at the connector.

You can easily fry the circuit board while removing it. It can ground/short to the dash frame.

what sensor did you replace , the one onthe back of cyl head is for the gauge

on my 95 with a 2.5 there is one on thermostat housing and the one on the cyl head ,,, the one on thermostat is called temp sensor the one in cyl head is called temp switch,,the switch controls the gauge

Yes, there is another on the left side of the block, about in the middle, it isn't for the gauge. (on 4.2 engine. The 4.0 has 2 as well, but I have no idea where the other one is).
