Different length shackles front and rear

I have a RC 4" lift on my YJ. It has a slight rake to the front and I was already planning on installing greasable shackles...would it be okay to put a 1" longer shackle on the front than the rear to get rid of the rake? Thanks.

I run a 3 1/2" BDS Spring lift with 1" shackles up front and 5/8" shackels in the rear. (With a hardtop and also a winch.) The front end is still just a bit lower than the rear still. No driving problems though. I am also putting on my rear bumper and swing away tire carrier tomorrow so we'll see how that goes. The general consensus is not to exceed 1" on shackle lifts though.

I have had this lift on for a year and I think it is done settling....I just want to level it out a bit and want to make sure it won't hurt handling or safety.

From a handling & safety standpoint, you'll be fine. My '91 DD ran for almost two years with huge 1.25" front & stock rears that my YJs PO installed.

You can run longer shackles in the front than the rear. You won't even be able to tell there is a difference when your driving it down the road.

i have stock shackels in the front, and 1.5" in the rear. Been that way for a year now... I HATED the long shackels in the front cause they get caught on EVERYTHING off-road. So i did bastard packs to my lift leafs.
