diff gears (help)

Ok, here's the deal. I totally trashed my rear diff gears on my '93 YJ. Ring and pinion are still good, but the spyder gears are all messed up, teeth missing and one of them is in about 12 pieces. Anyway, my ring and pinion are fine and I just need to replace the spyder gears. I talked to the guy at 4wd, which is where I ordered the parts from, and he said I can do this without taking out the carrier. Anyone have any tips as to how I can go about this. I know how to get the pins out but I was just wondering how hard it is going to be to get the new gears in there. Any help you guys can give will be appricated. Thx. Pls just post here or drop me an e-mail.

Nick

Sounds like you can get away with installing a Lunchbox locker .. it drops into the carrier once the spiders are removed.

Randy's Ring and Pinion has a great writeup about the different lockers and what to expect from each style. I would think a LockRite could be perfect for you.
