Diesel Swap kit coming
Here is a bit from the article.
The wait is almost over! Jeep Performance, a division of Mopar Performance, is working on a stand-alone diesel engine swap kit to drop the 2.8 diesel that first appeared in the Jeep Liberty into your TJ, YJ, CJ, or? While we'll have more details (and maybe a photo or two) after Jeep Safari in Moab, this is the real deal and is going to happen. Everything needed to install the diesel mill into a Jeep will come with the kit - including a stand-alone wiring harness and non-EGR motor!..... http://blogs.4wdandsportutility.com/6232286/editorials/diesel-jeep-swap-kit/index.html

That sounds so freaking great! I always wanted to swap that 4bt engine from cummins. Luckily there is no emissions testing in Colorado Springs, but I imagine people in other areas are going to have trouble with their emissions laws. I'll be watching for more information on this swap.

I would be all over this kit. Only problem is, coming from mopar its probably gonna cost a ton. Time to start saving the cash...
Any guesses as to how much this would probably cost?

Just let someone buy it and post their install on the web. Once they do that we should be able to piece and copy cat as much of the kit as possible.

That would be great! I might even consider it over the 350 swap I've been researching. I've always wanted a diesel, for the fuel efficiency as well as the torque.

I'll definitely be one to hop on that bandwagon. Better fuel mileage, more power, who's complaining.

We are still talking about a YJ right?
Who the hell brought fuel effe. into this? ![]() I see it as the single best upgrade for a small torquey engine possible

Hey, there's nothing wrong with trying to get a couple more mpg out of the brick!
And if you can do it at the same time as gaining some more power, well why the hell not?

I was just talking to some of my friends about putting diesels in our jeeps (or atleast mine cuz i'm always the guinney pig!). If the mopar stuff is wayyyy to expensive could we possibly put another kind of deisel in a yj?? maybe a VW? idk
just a thought. I would love to do a diesel swap i just don't know how i would do it.

yea a popular swap is the B4.4T cummins swap. i was lookin into it, but its a pretty serious swap since you are converting your jeep to run on a different type of fuel, im not 100% sure but i thought you ahd to swap gas tanks or flush yours out, and change the fuel lines and pump and all that stuff. huge PITA but if i had the time and money i'd defanitly do it.
