I took some pics, I can post them later if ppl want. My hands are all messed up (got tired of wearing the gloves). It was 80 degrees, sunny, no wind, a perfect day for this project. Now the sun is going down and I have a fitted sheet stretched over it. If the friggin local cats get in there tonight (they shouldn't, cause it will be warm) we will have some dead cats soon. Oh, and it only took about 1/2 gallon. I did 3 coats. If anyone wants a 1/2 gallon herculiner kit, real cheap, let me know. With (hardly used) gloves.
Hey dude dont be talking about your wonderful 80 degree perfect day. In Illinois its all cold and moist and like 40 at the most right now But anyway Hurculer is the best I did mine like a few months ago and its the S***!!!
i would love to see some pics if you got them , i got rhino linear on my tub which im extremely happy with get it dirt take the hose to it and spray it down
how thick and durable is the herculiner? rhion is 1/4 inch maybe little less
Prolly about the same. What I was really impressed with was how well the roller handled the chunky liquid. Almost looks sprayed on. Of course, I spent most my time on prep. I only took 2 pics. One of the empty tub, prepped and sanded down (I over prepped, even). Forget the green scrubby the kit comes with, use some good sand paper. And the other pic is after the first coat went in. After that, it got way too messy to pick up my camera.
yeah i want to do herculiner in my car to but im gonna wait for summer, but today wouldve been perfect it was 83, and yesterday it was 86 and the night was like a nice summer night. I LOVE CALIFORNIA WEATHER. please put pics
i've been looking into doing herculiner in my jeep (a YJ). I would be very interested in getting my hands on that extra half gallon, if that is all I will need to do my tub. Of course they sell it by the quart as well, go i could get some extra. anyways, how much for the half gallon, including shipping to 37920?
You figure it out. 10 lbs. 1 square foot box from 85701. UPS ground is prolly cheapest. You will have enough to do your tub. I did 3 coats and went as high as where my doors close. You get the 1/2 gallon herculiner, and everything that came with the 1 gallon kit. I only used 1 roller, it comes with 2. You NEED this roller to do it. But wait ... THERE'S MORE!
You also get some sand paper to really get the job done, hardly used dishwashing gloves, a paper mask for the fumes .... pretty much everything NOT INCLUDED in the Herculiner kit but the acetone. There are laws against stuff like shipping acetone, but you can buy it at any hardware store. Or pick it up in Arizona.
Enjoy it. I got the caps back on the gallon while it was still wet, so it shouldn't leak at all during shipping. I heard someone say they had trouble removing them, on a new can, but at most you will need to pry them off with a screwdriver. I got them off with my fingers, and it comes with a paint pry.
You will need: acetone, a stir stick and a rag. That's all.
Yes. Wear the gloves. My hands look like something out of a horror movie because the gloves bothered me and I took them off. Whatever you do, don't clean off the brush with acetone and your bear hands, squeezing the brush in hopes to resell the kit. And don't underestimate your prep time. A 2 day job, in nice weather. Don't plan to do it on a rainy weekend.
I paid $99. And I bought gloves, sand-paper, a mask after the kit .... like I said, everything the kit SHOULD have but the acetone. I'd ship the acetone too, but I think I need a federal license of some sort for that!
