Deciding on Tires

I've been reading up alot before buying my rims and tires but I'd still like some more knowledgeable opinions before I buy anything.

For Rims I'm looking at getting the Chrome Star 15x8 Size 5x4.5 Bolt Pattern 3.75" Back Spacing (so I don't rub my springs as much)

For Tires I'm deciding between BFG Mud Terrain T/A KM 31x10.50R15/C

And Mickey Thompson Baja Claw Radial 31x10.5R15

Nothing too crazy for wheeling, sand, mud, shallow water. I cant afford to trash my Jeep just yet. These are on tirepackage.com, is $941 mounted, balanced and shipped a decent price or am I missing better deals elsewhere?

The whole setup cost me $650.

I bought all 4 of my wheels (aluminum ultra something...) off of a member here for $150 shipped.

then i bought 4 33x12.50x15 mud tires for $548 mounted and balanced.

so i had~$700 total in my wheels and tires.

I hear the baja claws are awesome

I have run both and if your gonna drive it on the street the BFG's will last a lot longer and are a better all around tire and still work great in just about every type of terrain. Although the mickeys do look cool and i liked my rig with them on.

Thanks for the replys guys, Michael_94YJ it must only let your cart display on your computer, it come up empty for me. I wont be doing alot of highway driving with it, this jeep stays mostly in town so I'm hoping the Baja Claws wont wear down so fast then. I'm hoping that those tires will mount to those rims fine and make it on the jeep ok since no one said that setup would be dumb? I would hate for it to be a bad setup and not be able to return them because I mounted them.

if you're going offroad w/ a 15x8 rim you'll probably want a 12.5" wide tire.

I've never been to North Dakota, but I know here in Pa. BFG's are king. If I could of afforded the 40" Krawlers, they would be on my rig.

I've had to be pulled out everytime I wheeled (even lightly) with BFG t/a's I would only get them for street driving.

I ran bfg all-terrains on my 95 bronco , they are really nice tires and will last a really long time , but they suck something fierce in the mud. Great for sand and moderate wheelin , but the second they hit mud they become a slick.

my freind had BFG T/A's on his lifted XJ and they wore down fast. Then again he did drive on the highway about 60 miles twice a week. When he switched to TSL's the diffrance was crazy. My other freind had Maxxis buckshots on his amigo and they lasted well and were cheap to buy. you can get a set of buckshots for under 500 on ebay with free shipping. They are a good all around tire and we liked them better then the BFG's off road. The super swampers were great but alittle steep for my budget. Also if your looking for an all around kummo( spelling) and firestone had some good ones that my other freinds ran on there full size chevys. I would bet the firestones were alot of $$.

Thats just the experance i have with some freinds when ack in high school. They were both lifted and installed the tires within a few months of each other. my freind with the BFG's switched to TSL's in about half way through the year. I here great things about the baja claws but have no personal experance.

As stated above BFG a/t in the mud are not fun at all
