Dashboard lights are real dim

The dashboard lights on my 87 YJ work but are very dim. I have the dimmer switch at its brightest point. Any suggestions?

adjust the dimmer switch?

check grounds. or the dimmer itself could be bad.

Take it apart and clean the bulbs. Mine were covered with so much crap you could hardly tell they were on.

[QUOTE="dancytron;16932913"]Take it apart and clean the bulbs. Mine were covered with so much crap you could.......

Yes def check those bulbs. Mine were covered with a tinted rubber. Almost like a condom. Ripped the rubber off and instantly brighter.

When I replaced mine with LEDs, I found that the some sort of smurf orgy took place in my Jeep. All my lights were covered with blue condoms.

I left the blue condoms on mine. It was the 20 years of dirt that I cleaned off.
