Dash Arrow

I have a 95 Rio Grande, I've noticed that occasionally an arrow appears in the center of the dash instrumentation
What does this indicate?
Thank you

its saying a airplane is above you or alien space craft.

Its there to help make the MPG better by shifting when the preset computer program says its best time to shift.

It means you have activated the Ejection Seat Arm button.

Mine must have a long lost 6th gear, as mine calls for an upshift while in 5th gear.

So, your Jeep is an automatic with the arrow in the cluster?

I would more likely think that someone replaced the cluster with one from a manual than the pcm by itself, otherwise there would be no light in there at all. My 95 cluster doesn't even have an arrow in the panel.

Nope, the pcm controls the up shift light, the cluster dose nothing but hold bulb.

Reasoning then would suggest the tranny was swapped to an auto.
