Unhooked the drivelines and blocked the motor this morning in preparation to drop out the tranny and t-case. Started putting all the new seals and bearings in the 44

Well its been a while since ive updated (football takes alot of time and energy out of you) but weve got the transmission and transfer case in and working on making a crossmeber/skid plate for it and made a custom steering arm for the 44 all i got left to do is slide in the front axle bolt it up then make drivelines and steering linkages

Does the ford dana 60 hit the gas tank?
What year ford f250 did you pull these from.
Do the tires hang way out now? I have to assume they must since a f250 is a full size truck making your wheel base supper wide now. That would be a problem for me
where I go wheeling. That is why I was thinking of the ford 8.8 from the explorer.

I'm interested to see how this works out as I have the same jeep and need to do some axle changes in the near future.
Keep posting pics please.

No I've still got clearance from the gas tank(quite a bit) these axles came out of a 1979 and for the wheel base the 30s measure 60in where the 44/60 measure 68 so gaining 4 in on each side.

Looking good man. I have the same axle setup. Love it! I picked up a set of chromo shafts for the 44 and run 35 spline shafts in the 60.
