Dana 35 interchangability 93 to 89?

Are they interchangeable throughout the model years? (87-95).

I know some of the older ones had different looking brake drums, but I think that's because those were non-c-clip ones right? or was that just a freakish finned thing from the 80's? lol

Not that non-c-clip would matter because it would be a whole axle swap, but the 93 should bolt right up to everything, spring plates, brake lines & driveshaft, right?

93 saw a U joint change, so you may or may not need a conversion Ujoint. But other than that it will bolt right in.
Most auto parts places sale that joint and keep it in stock.

may also be a difference in the e-brake cable length between the older set up and the newer one

You will probably need the 1310/1330 bastard U-joint.

Skip the ujoint change and just swap the yokes. Zip them off and then back on again.

Actually I am selling my old 93 4.10 D35 to someone who has a broken 89 3.55 YJ. I know my rear yolk is 1310/1310, so we're good there.

What gears do you currently have in the D30? If they're 4.10s then your new D35 with 3.55s won't work if you plan to use 4 wheel drive. You can't mismatch gear ratios. Before I'd go to the trouble of gearing a D35 either buy one with 4.10 gears or upgrade to a 8.8. You can find 8.8s with 4.10 gears of you look hard enough.

I have 4.88's in my D30 and 8.8.

Guy is interested in just the D35 with 4.10s. I have tried to explain to him that he wants my D30 Carrier and 4.10's as well for the front. even if he doesnt do anything with them now, he'll want them later.
