Busted the ears off one of the outer shafts today. Seems like a good time to put TJ axles in. I got the Yukon block off plate kit and the axle shafts on the way. I've also read Stu's page on doing this and i still don't feel confident in doing it myself. Anyone done this themselfs? Also are the seals the same # on driver side yj and tj axles. Also do you really need a seal on the outer side of the disconnect?

I have done my fair share of these swaps. Some a little more involved, some the same.

Yes, you can leave the same YJ seal in the driver side that's in it already since the TJ axle shafts for that side are the same diameter inner shaft where the seal seats. No need to change anything on that side as far as seals go when swapping in a TJ shaft on the drivers side (unless it's leaking, or you fell like doing it while you are in there).
