i assume you mean the head of the bolt is sheard off. i have come across that to. i had to use a punch and big hammer to punch the center pin through.

The d-30 only has the pin there is no bolt with it. You need to take a punch the size of the hollow pin and punch it out away from the ring gear toward the spider gears because the hole is slightly tappered.

I would bet this is the case. I have a set of 4:10 gears with the carrier from an XJ Dana 30 HP that I am putting in the wife's YJ. This XJ set also uses a roll pin to hold the cross shaft in place.

Yep you got it, it isn't hard if you have the right diamater punch (or whatever you use) to punch it out.
As long as what you have doesn't sit in the roll pin, if it does it usually gets jammed in the pin and forces the pin to spread open a little (since the pin is hallow), and that makes it harder to get out.

x2. it only goes out one direction (hit it down away from the ring gear) and find something (a punch or screwdriver) that is a perfect fit.

that's a pretty big diff for only 35's though. have you thought about a full width 44?

and don't weld the d30 if you drive it on the street at all

well if i run 60s im gonna strech the rear and most likly run 37s or 38s. and as for welding the 30 i have a posi lock so it will be the same as if i had a locker.

wrong. a posi-lock is not a locker. if you weld it it will be like having a spool.

lockers are made to either be shut off, or automatically be off during regular use. When you go around turns one wheel must rotate faster than the other, this is what causes a clicking sound in some automatic lockers. But if you weld your gears, it will be like always having your ARB turned on, or having your automatic locker not "give" around turns. no good for on road use.

Ok I never said a posi lock is a locker. I'm pretty sure I know what it does. It replaces the vac cad unit. So there for if I weld my spiders as long the posi lock is disingaged only the drivers side tire will spin .

i apologize, as i read your last post wrong. I agree, with the CAD disengaged and your spiders welded, you will be fine.
