Daily Driver??

My friend is selling his 95 YJ for about 4k with 137k miles on it. Hes done the interior very well, with neoprene seats, sound bars...everything i dont really care too much about.

My main worry is, i see some of your rigs (they look great by the way) and i dont see many that are everyday, go to work, go to class, jeeps

Now dont get me wrong, when i get my jK in a few years, i plan on making this thing my b**ch, but until then, i want it to take me to where i wanna go in STYLLLE while still being fun off road.

Question is, are these YJs daily drivers ? Or are they falling apart now and need to be used as wheeling vehicles only? Is it smart to believe that this one can be good to me for a bit?

i drive mine every single day and frequently go on 4 and 5 hour highway trips. they are loud, rough, and slow as hell but i love every minute of it.

You would be suprised how many of the people on this forum use their rigs as DD. Like any care that is 18-12years old theres gunna be things that need replaced and get worn. Yj's can make great DD stock and still are sweet DD with some offroad work done to them. Just matters what your looking for. If your worried about road noise, gas milage, and creature comforts, you may wanna buy a civic.

I crave loudness, and i want to feel the road as much as possible. I'm glad to hear good reviews on the DD.

I used to drive my '87 daily but it had a hardtop and full doors then too. But I bought a new ride to use as a DD, but I still like driving the Jeep more.

My 89 will be my daily driver as soon as I turn 16 this weekend. IMO, the vehicles age has nothing to do with daily driveability. My dads daily driver is a 28 year old, (thats a 1979) Ford F-150.

Here's my daily driver and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also tote two kids and sports gear around (coaching both kids teams year round). It gets a little crowded, I don't have a stereo or a quiet cushy ride, but I wouldn't change a thing. Of course Jeeps are in my blood. My parents bought their new CJ5 when I was nine months old. That was 39 years ago! The rest is history...

DD mine all through winter. Worked wonderfully and never had any problems. All depends on how well the PO(s) took care of it. But very doable.

Nothing but a BL and 33s, but it is my daily driver. Nice stereo, amp, and speakers/soundbar couresy of the PO... I hardly even turn it on No a/c but then again, if I remember correctly, the top comes off I keep her in the garage with the top down 90% of the time so I can jump in and go in the morning with no "dew on the seats" issue. Top is for heavy rain only

Mileage sucks but you only live once... I have a very stressful job but taking the long way home topless makes it all go away!
