Custom Dashboard

okay, like most guys out there, I like steel more than plastic. for that reason I hate my dashboard. its craptacular. so during my late night drives... I think about what I could do with it...

Here are my thoughts

remove all the plastic peices, make templates using the stock design of the dash. then get the peices cut out of diamond plate steel. then since I got an old dashboard sitting around, take my time and weld everything onto it. remove the retarded star/8 or 9 point POS screws. replace them with simple hex bolts. give the dash a nice paint job. replace everything.

okay, so... with that I got some Q's

will the speedometer be able to mount at a diagonal angle, since it has the little speedometer white plastic thing on the back of it?

same goes with all the gauges... could they fit at an angle... because I dont want to make the gauges sunk in, like they are now...

another Idea!

okay, this is another Idea/design I had, keeping the mid section of the dash going straight down, then curving tword the front of the jeep. then welding it to the floor. and then make 2 peices on either side of it, both with 6x9 or some smaller combo of speaker, then relocating the Cdplayer to the cieling... having to make a utility bar thing....

I know this is pretty long and confusing, and nobody really reads it if there is to much stuff, but tell me whatcha guys think, and help me out!

Hey guy, customizing is customizing. If you lke it, do it. You'll have to do all the troubleshooting and then tell those who want to copy your setup. I won't be in line.

if you want to relocate your stereo up high, get a tuffy overhead console. the one with two compartments that mounts between the rollbar and the footman loop on the windshield frame.
