Custom dash is almost done

A while ago, I started on a custom dash for my 91 YJ. It has taken alot longer than I thought it would doue to money and time to work on it, but it is almost done!! Just though I would show it off. (the blank hole is hoing to be an oil pres. gauge. Summit sent me 2 water temp gauges)

Very nice, clean looking install. Can't wait to see it finished. Did you purchase that dash or make it yourself? Either way, very nice!

It only cost $60. I live not too far form a fab shop. They made it for me out of some of their scrap (which explains the scratch on the lower right side). I was thinking about powder coating it black though, cause like mississippi_xj said, it is shiny and will likely be unbearable with the reflection.

Big thanks for posting that, i was considering several dash options including tread plate, now i have a visual of what it would look like.

Looks good, why is your shifter backwards in those pictures (pointing towards the dash)?

I'm pretty sure it is not attached to the tranny right now. You can see there is a big whole in the floor next to it.

You could make it all "swirley" with a wire wheel on the angle grinder... It would knock down some of the glare and might look good.....

The dash isn't completely done yet, so that is why there aren't any holes for speakers, etc...

The shifter is backwards because the rig has a 4" body lift on it. The shifter would hit the edge of the sheetmetal on the floor and I would bve able to get it into 2nd, 4th, or Reverse. Just another thing I haven't gotten to yet. In fact, for that "big hole", I am also going to make a cover for that out of diamond plate as well. I will post the pics as soon as I have time to do it.
