Possible? The frame is plenty strong, but you'd need stronger axles, stronger transmission and possibly a stronger transfer case. Better brakes wouldn't hurt either. Plus you need to rewire, modify your driveshafts and a bunch of other fabrication.

A lot of time, work and expense. Be prepared for that. Then maybe you end up with something like this:

Don't forget the weight factor in it. Do a search on here there are lots of information about this same subject.

True Dat!

Plus larger tires have more load capacity to support the added weight of the engine, axles and trans, plus cargo capacity (figure 300lbs per passenger plus gear) ie. You need to define a new Gross Vehicle Weight. Something like 32" or 33" tires should be plenty though.

The Cummins is a great motor but it is a heavy pig. There are some lighter diesels out there that are strong, the duramax has alot of aluminum although i dont know what it weighs.

For a Jeep-sized vehicle, the 4BT swap is sort of becoming the "norm."

Informed about what? Is there something in my post that you don't agree with?

When you start adding a lot more weight to your vehicle, you do need to consider the load capacity of your tires. Vehicle weight + cargo capacity = GVW. Your tires need to support your new GVW safely (as does your brakes and suspension).
