Is crossing heater hoses a bad thing??

I recently replaced my blower motor. Drained the coolant. Put heater hoses back on. I noticed the hoses were different sizes but they went back on without having to force them on. Now im noticing i have a leak on the top of the radiator and my radiator cap was bad. If I put the hoses on backwards would that hurt the radiator or does it even matter?

It doesn't matter as long as there are no leaks because of the switch. On most new heater cores, the inlet and outlet tubes have different diameters. Some are close, some aren't. As long as those hoses aren't leaking where they connect to the heater core, you are good to go. The heater core will work the same no matter how they are hooked up AND that "switch" can't cause your other cooling system problems. That was something else.

Take care,

Just one thing to add to this. If there was a build up of crud in the heater core it would get back flushed by reversing the flow. If it was a lot of stuff in there it could cause a clog somewhere else.
