Critique my Pinion Angle Please

In the process of completing my lift, sye and 8.8 swap. Only thing left is to set the pinion angle and weld everything up. Using my cheap-o harbor freight angle finder, I have determined that my ds angle is aprrox 21 degrees. My pinion angle is somewhere between 17 and 20 degrees depending on how i hold this pos angle finder (i some how keep getting a different angle reading in the same spot). I know I want to set the pinion about 3 degrees low because the brand new springs are going to settle some after they get broke in. How does the angle look in these pics?

Now you did bounce on the rear of the jeep before taking the picture or did you just drop it on the ground? Flexing it out some will settle the springs some more than just dropping it and trying to set the angle.

For those who have not figured this out I'm old school but can handle the new too.

looks GOOD! I went through the same thing a few weeks ago I had my diff u-joint set at Zero degrees (see pic) pointed straight at the transfer case yoke at ride height. I ended up going down 2 degrees from where I was at in the pic. been driving it for two weeks now and no vibes up to 75 miles an hour You said you have new springs so they may sag over time which will make your pinion point up ^^ more. Like dodger said jump up and down on it and make real sure its sitting good before you burn them perches on. A good way to do it is point the pinion straight at the transfer case yoke, measure angle at pinion then drop it 2 degrees from there and you should be good.
