crappy dana 35 question, and 8.8 driveshaft question

firt off, i got a dana 35 with an Aussie in it, don't agree with locking a 35 but the P.O. thought it was. so until i get my 8.8 in im stuck with it.

now my question. i went wheeling the other day, everything was great. went through some frozen water, little mud, and some climbs. got home and about 2 blocks from my house i herd that as soon as i let my jeep idle i hear a click in the rear end. then i can accelerate and it goes away completely. it only happens when the jeeps moving in idle, not by its own power. almost like the click is happening on the lest side of the rear then the right side back and forth of the rear. im almost positive it has to be the locker. im going to try a fluid change in case some water got in it.
when i tried finding the prob last night i noticed my yoke was warn out and letting the ujoint move around, well we had an extra yoke n swamped it out so its not u joint.

is their anything more i should do or look for? or anything specific to look for when looking at the Aussie? or anything else it could be.

second question. i got everything but my 8.8s drive shaft.(dont want to put in it yet its cold in garage..) if i need to put it in, can i just run the stock drive shat for a week or two with he 8.8 or is that not a possibility. with 4 inches of lift.

thanks a lot in advanced for any help.

The problem with the stock drive shaft is the pinion angle.
When you install the 8.8, with the stock drive shaft, you will set it up with the pinion angle one way. There is no reason the stock ds won't work though. I did it until it broke a few months after the 8.8 install.
When you upgrade to an sye and dc/cv drive shaft, you will need to remove the spring perches and adjust the pinion angle to the new set up then re-weld the spring perches back on.
Kind of a pain, not undoable, but a pain.

sweet man, just checking my options. i got another t case with an sye in it. and then a new front axle with 4.10s soon, and an 8.8 siting in my garage. but if i need to i rather just put the axle in and worry about that other stuff in summer. since im running out of time and money. thanks again
