Could someone explain how I would install the trailer hitch wiring?
I just got my yj and need to use it to tow and I have never towed before. If someone could briefly explain how I install the wiring for the trailer it would be great. Thanks

If you're pulling a trailer with the regular four-prong wire harness, it's pretty easy. I just bought a generic vehicle/trailer wiring kit at the auto parts place. You will have four wires to hook up, and they are color coded. I ran the left turn and running light wires up under the rear left corner of the body. There is a rubber "floor" there that is easy to work around to get to the wires at the bulbs. Take the wire for the left turn signal and tap it into the positive wire for the left turn bulb. Take the wire for the running lights and tap it into the positive wire for the running lights. Center the connector near the center of the rear using zipties to secure the wires to the frame. I got some wire loom to run the wires through first just to protect them. Run the right turn wire to the right turn bulb wire on the right side of the Jeep, again accessing the wire from the bottom. Wire loom and ziptie again. The last wire is the ground, so connect it to any metal bplt attached to the frame that you can find. Takes maybe 1/2 to 3/4 hour depending how clean you want the final product.
