Console Ideas?

Looking to add a center console and was interested in your opinions. I built one but didn't really like it. Also thinking of building another one but need some ideas. Would be interested in buying one too. Will need to lock my stereo and whatever else up in this console when the top is off. Some pics would be great. Thanks!!!!

The one i got has cup holders haha if you make one copy one like mine should be rather simple. Or find and old ammo can and make something cool out of one of those and just add all the things you want

The VDP deluxe console can be quickly and easily modified to accommodate all sorts of trinkets and it has cupholders. Four to be exact. I have my cb in it, my switches and about 160cu in of lockable space inside. Its not steel but still a good enough theft deterrent to avoid a crime of opportunity.

I got mine off eBay several years ago. It's basically a Tuffy knock off, there are tons of them on eBay for cheap, but they all have adjustable cup holders now instead of one size like mine. I've got the stereo in the stereo slot and the CB mounted inside.

Here are some old pics.....

Just installed one of these into a jeep on Saturday. It was really cheap steel but it seems to fit the purpose. I was looking into one if I ever bought another Yj but I didn't like how low the cupholders were.

Yeah, I like the one size cup holder, I've seen several of the plastic adjustable arm things stop holding in place.

I'm liking the ammo can idea. I'd probably have to pad the top of it, but I like the idea. I also like the Tuffy cup holders and the rear mount CB ideas. I believe I see a project in my not so distant future.

I moded an old tuffy console that came with the Jeep. I raised it like 8" cause was too low but the shifter is hitting the cup holder in 2nd, 4th and reverse so I'm trying to fix this problem (need to bend the shifter out of the way...). for now the cup holder is in the back of the console....

Was looking around, and the 20mm ammo can dimensions are about 14.5" x 19" x 8" wide. 8" wide may be too wide for some Jeeps?

Dimensions found here:

7.5" width found here:

Fit fine with stock seats. Very snug with my celica seats but works
