I also have a 95 2.5. When mine was failing, it was just like int he link. I would turn the key on, wait for 30 seconds to a minute, hear a really loud metallic clicking. Thne, I could start normally. I sent my ECU off to get rebuilt (don't remember where). That was ~1o years ago. Haven't had a problem since.
I'm curious, is there a reason you think the computer is failing or is it just you being curious as to what the signs would be?
My computer failure was sudden, turned off jeep, cam out to start it five minutes later and the computer failed. when it stopped working properly it still showed the normal codes:
12 - battery disconnected
33 -no A/C relay
55 - end of code
In the end some internal part that powers the ground to the ASD and fuel pump relay fried. only signs were that the jeep wouldn't start because the ASD relay wouldn't ground, and no fuel pump priming.
I had replace the computer with an ECM from a neglected and wrecked jeep in Wyoming and put it in with no reset and it ran like crap. after resetting it, it runs much better and smoother now and the was in December.
Actually, I read the codes, and 2 of them was MAP sensor electric and vacuum .
But there was also a few others some of which did not make sense.
So I am thinking, now that I have replaced the MAP and timing chain and gears to do a reset and see what it has to say.
The reason that I think the comp may be failing is that I keep getting different readings every time that I read it.
