coil conversion

I am planning on installing a new suspension on my jeep and have been looking at the Explorer ProComp coil conversion for yj's and was wondering if anyone here has done the conversion and what do they think about it. Is it any good or is there a problem with it. Anyways your input would be greatly appreciated
thanks

I have no personal experience with it, but the 4x4 shop that installed my friends XCL kit said that the pro comp version was pretty reliable. If you can afford it the XCL blackdiamond kit is a far better kit. The crew at rockkrawler.com has a coil conversion as well.(sorry, I can't remember the exact web address for rock krawler)....The procomp is said to be a completely bolt-on kit. If it is and you are confident enough to do it yourself then it will save you alot of $ aswell.

A guy posted about his ProComp coil-conversion a while back .. showed pictures of it in the Registry Section (I am thinkin' around the June/July time frame) ..

He reported that the flex wasn't great with the ProComp kit .. it rode as stiff as stock springs and he didn't get the amount of lift he thought he should get to run the tires he wanted to run ..

I have heard way more good things about the XCL from BlackDiamond (now Warn) .. extreame flex, very soft ride .. but it does have the "slinky effect" that you find with many lifted TJ's ..

the Blackdiamond kit is a awesome kit, but its so soft that in a parking lot, it has ALOT of body roll, its so soft

probably the best & maybe cheapest < Considering with the Blackdiamond you have to redo the exhaust completely>

order a Tj Lift you want or like the most & fab it to fit < TJ Mock up> Rubicon express has there Coils any length for 150 bucks a pair... I'll be running 6" front coils on all 4 corners
you can go through Avalanche Engineering & have the make the links for you, or buy the material yourself & make them

Like Naekid said, the Procomp< Procrap as everyone calls it> rides rougher than a Buck N Board Buggy

www.Rockkrawler.com has a 7" Coilover set up that uses FOX Coilovers < which are awesome> might want to check it out, alot cheaper than getting the Blackdiamond kit, which cost around 2500 bucks, then add another grand to it for install, Oh before you order it, you'll have to go down, weight your Jeep, call the Co up, tell them your specs & weights then they make the kit to fit your Jeep... no 1 kit is exactly alike

Thomken has a bolt on Coilconversion as well.. i havent heard anything about that one yet
Hope this helps
