I just went with www.gripforce.com for an Exedy Clutch and new flywheel. Parts fit great and working like new. I shopped around a bit, seemed like the best deal. Good luck.

i cant remember exactly how much but it was more then $100 but less then $150 and that includes the slave and aliment tool.

to be honest i dont know if its a good clutch or not i just own a jeep and a few wrenches. i replaced mine about 6 months ago and been wheeling the piss out of it and it still works fine. anyways if it does crap out just bring it back and get a new one for free thats why i like autozone.

On that site, it actually says "87-92 JEEP WRANGLER CHEROKEE 2.5L LUK CLUTCH+SLAVE KIT "

That '2.5' denotes the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine. Make sure it's your engine and you're golden.

Edit: I just realized you said AX-15 in your first post, which was the tranny specifically for the 4.2 and 4.0 6-cylinder engines, so no, that is not the clutch for you.

Hey I've got another question for you. I just bought my jeep a month ago and well im retarded.the people who had it before me replaced the engine I dont remeber if the just redid it or actually replaced it. I have looked around and I dont see anything that will identify the type of engine or any thing. Is there a way to tell what kind of engine I have? I have counted all the plugs on the dis. cap and there are 7 of them does this mean I have a 6 cyl? Basically I really just wanted the jeep and it was cheep so I bought it.

Man you have lots reading to do. Start with the FAQ section on here. Next get a Haynes manual for your jeep. Read up and have fun with your jeep

That does mean you have a 6-cylinder. Next, you want to determine the type of engine. Each block actually has a casting number that you could match up and determine the exact year and specifications of the engine in the Jeep. However, there are easier ways.

Know the difference between a carburetor and fuel injection? If you have a carburetor, it's more than likely the 4.2L inline 6. If you have fuel injectors it's a 4.0L inline 6 (which is better for efficiency and power).

Next is transmission. If you have the 4.0L fuel injected motor, it is ery likely the Aisin AX-15 tranny. If you have the 4.2L carburated motor, then you may have one of two of the following trannies. There is a clear difference between what the two possibilities of the tranny you have are: the Aisin AX-15 or Peugot BA-10/5. I'm sure the trannies are marked if you get close enough, as the model is casted into the aluminum casings, I just cannot remember what it says and where exactly they are located. Your best bet is to look up the pics on google and look for similar matching characteristics. Chances are that if it is still running well, it's the Aixin AX-15. Chrysler ditched the Peugot BA-10/5 for a reason.
