holy crap it's looking GREAT!!!!

My only concern is that header wrap usually promotes pre-mature rot in exhaust headers if the wrap gets wet, have you treated the wrap with the high temp sealant?

Awesome job w/ the ceramic coat and heat wrap. I'd imagine that wrap will get awfully dirty, awfully fast

If you don't mind me asking, did you ship the manifold out, or did you coat/bake it yourself? How much did it set you back? I know enough people who wouldn't do this on their turbocharged sports cars, let alone crawler!

I actually submitted a Write-Up last night on coating and wrapping the headers. - Exhaust Wrap How To I just finished the wrapping last night so it was still wet from the installation process but yes I did purchase a High Tempurature Silicone Sealant that I will spray and bake on the wrapping either today or tomorrow.

I have access to a sandblaster, and springing for a place like High-Performance Coatings to ceramic coat my headers just wasn't in my budget, so I just bought the do-it-yourself kit from my local auto parts store, sand blasted the header, applied the coating in my garage, and paid a local Powdercoater $20 to bake the ceramic coating per instruction of the can. All in all with the ceramic coating, the pipe wrap, and paying the powdercoater I was into it about $60 and 2 days worth of work (powdercoaters took the header overnight) I submitted a write-up of the complete process and time breakdown, and I bought some silicone spray to spray on the wrapping to aid against staining, fading, and fraying/falling apart. Exhaust Wrap How to

Yeah I owe all the aluminum cleaning up to the "Eagle One" brand cleaner. Their "Mag and Alloy Etching Wheel Cleaner" made clean-up a breeze! I actually used it on the intake manifold before sandblasting it and It was turning out great I just couldn't get in all the tight spots and crevaces to make it look a uniform shine so I settled to have it blasted. The sand-blaster that I have access to is 40 grit, and I thought it would be way too corrosive (this blaster is huge, it feeds sand through a 2" diameter tube) and so I paid a local hot rod shop to use some 120 grit sand. and although it made it a nice uniform color, it did dull the aluminum quite a bit, and then he advised me spray a clear coat on it, (I used a special clear coat made for aluminum rims) to help keep the oil fumes from clogging up the pores again, this brought back some of the shine to the manifold but still not like before. Oh well I'm overall pleased.

Yeah ha it seems like a lot of work especially for a rock crawler. But after my last crawler I realized my next one was going to be perfect how I want it and emaculate. And I'm hoping its all going to pay off in the end. Plus this crawler is going to be 100% street legal as compared to my last one which I dont think a single thing on it was legal, so I will be doing this one 110% in every detail.

Nice Job!
Aren't you the least bit curious as to why the injectors were so oil soaked?
I've torn down a lot of engines and I don't think I've ever seen injectors as dirty as yours were.
