Well, it seems like its about the right time to start my build thread. I'll give a little bit of history on the jeep and then we'll get to the mods.
I had just gotten done with work that day( I work with my mom installing swimming pool liners) and we were on our way home when we passed a yj for sale on the side of the road. As we passed by it quickly, she read out $2500. She wanted to make sure, so we turned around and stopped by it. She was right, it said 2500 dollars. We wrote the number down and started on our way back home. I was 15 at the time, now sixteen, so I was sorda looking for a car but wasnt at the same time. My mom has this deal she'll do that when I whenever i got my first car, she would pay half, as long as it was around 3000. Well she said that if I didnt get it that she was going to buy it for my dad. I had a choice of either to let it pass or get it and pay off my half whenever I got the money. I decided I would take it as long as we could get ahold of the guy selling it. We tried calling on the way home but there was no answer, so my mom left a message. A few minutes later, the guy calls and says that he's out of town but will be back the next day and to call him the next day at 3:00 to schedule a meeting. Well the next day rolls around and we pass it again on our way to work and get out and look this time. It has 2 busted front fenders that we noticed. I got up in and made sure I still wanted it, I did. Well we went on to work that day. We get done and call at 3, he says he's in a different part of town and that we werent the only people that wanted to see the jeep that day, and tells us to meet him at 4:00 before he meets everybody else waiting. Well we go over there and wait in the truck for him to pull up. Soon enough, he pulls up in his truck and hops out with the title. He says that it used to belong to the owner of the jeep dealership and has been through a couple of people since then. Says that 5th gear doesnt work and that it had hit a guardrail and deer. My mom asks if we can take it for a test drive and he says sure. So we hop up in there and start cruising down the street. One of my first words were, "Is it always this loud" lol. My parents used to own a cj5 and so she new what it was like to have a jeep and told me that thats how jeeps are lol. Anyways, we get back and get out. The guy said that when we had been driving that people were calling and were coming to look at it this second. My mom then asks he would come down to 2300. He pauses.... and says yeah... he could do that. The money exchange happens and he pulls the jeep around back until we can come pick it up later. So, now, I've had my Jeep for about a year (in May) and have slowly been fixing it back as funds permit me to. I still have half of my half to pay off but I will have it soon. When I got it home, I was just gonna wait until I could get someone to fix the tranny or fix it myself. Waiting didnt least long and within 2 weeks of buying it, I had the tranny dropped and was diagnosing problems. Then I found out it was only a snap ring and that it could be fixed easily. I reassembled it and stuck it back up in there. I also bought a new flowmaster super 44 off-road edition and put it on when putting it back together.
I stuck the shift lever back in and what did I find, it would not go into any gear. I didnt know what the issue was but started to dissassemble it while it was under the jeep instead of dropping it again. What was wrong was I had a shift rail engaged and the shift lever wasnt in the one that was engaged. Got that fixed and she shifted again. The ax5 still has some trouble with 5th gear, stupid synchros lol. After that, months passed with me doing nothing to the Jeep. Heres some pics of how it sat and specs of the rig:

I then decided that I should get some fenders, so I found some used ones from jeepforum and got them for Christmas.After that, time passed and we decided we needed a welder. Got one and patched a hole on my jeep where the snorkel used to be attached, my first welding project.
After that, I sprayed it with some paint and now it looks almost as good as new.
I am now working on getting the lights from the hood to the bumper. I have a CJ7 tailgate im gonna put on and possibly a cj5 dash. Ill keep you posted. Thanx, Cody

My plans eventually will be to put a re 4.5 ed lift on with some 35's along with a 1 inch body lift. The chili pepper edition was from factory. I plan to get me some more stickers made and Im going to keep the plaque and move it to my glove box when i do the cj dash swap. The fenders were pretty easy to install, kinda helped to have another person to help when lining them up but its not hard for the most part. I just sold the snorkel and am now in the rocess of moving the lights the the bumper. Im gonna weld the hood holes up tomorrow.
Im not going to. Im going to keep the dash plaque and get the stickers remade. Everything on the jeep besides the plaque and sticker are the same as every other yj as far as I know of. My build sheet didnt show anything abnormal. The only thing that is different, is the rear axle. Which by how it looks, looks like it wasnt factory.
