chevy 350 bolt up transmissions

does anyone have a list of the manual transmissions that bolt directly up to an 80s chevy 350? id like to run the nv4500 but that doesnt seem to bolt right up and they're pretty expensive

I've been wondering the same thing. I have access to an 89 350 for free, but need a transmission.

I'll be following along

1995 YJ 2.5 - 4 RC lift - 1" MML - 33's - flat fenders front - TJ flares rear -Raptor lined exterior - Herc'd interior - DIY front bumper & winch plate - 136 amp alternator mod - 4.0 TB swap

My build thread...
I've got a shotgun, a rifle and a four wheel drive...

What transfer case are you wanting to use. A SM420 has the lowest first gear @ 7.05 to 1 of any small truck tranny .

the sm420 is a transmission isnt it? i was thinking about that one but upon deeper research i was reading that you have to wait around 2 seconds between each shift, and it has no overdrive, that was the first tranny i looked up though lol

I run an SM420 behind a SBC, and it is a SLOW shifting trans...huge gear splits!!!

On 33's first gear is largely useless on-road. No overdrive either is killer on mileage, even with realatively tall 3.73 rear gear, but a bone stock 350 sucks at real low RPM anyways, so if it had overdrive it would be useless as well.

T-18's are about the same. A non GM tyranny will require a conversion bell housing, and pilot bearing. A GM transmission might need a adapter for the 231, if that's what your wanting to use.
