chevy 292

My buddy has just got a 88 yj everything is stock , comes w 2.4l. the question is can he mount the 292 chevy to the jeeps bell housing or does he need an adapter plate?

The Puegot tranny will break into pieces if it is hooked up to that motor. The puegot can barely handle the weak 4.2L YOur friend needs a new tranny if he does a swap.
