Changing the Shift Knobs

Very simple question guys. Got some chrome knobs for the 4wd and gear shift knobs. How do I take these off? Do I screw them off or is there some sort of screw in the top under the gear display cap and I have to pry it open? I'm very heavy handed and don't wont to unscrew something when it's not meant to be unscrewed. As I said...very simple question.

there should be a jam nut under the knob...turn it in the tightening direction then just unscrew the knob in the normal counter-clockwise direction
Check out my YJ!!!!

You would just never imagine what is in the FAQ or what comes up with a search on this forum, it's amazing.
