CB equipment
where do you buy a good short off road antenna and the speaker to mount under the hood where you can use the PA? i have looked everywhere!!!

i run the wilson 4' fiberglass on my big truck and the heep, excellent. can get the in 3' aswell. put a big spring on the base of it, and leave it alone.
as far as an external speaker, radioshack, or any audio store. truckstops will have what you need aswell, and no shipping. martin

I bought my antenna from West Coast Mall, that's where I found the best deal.

x2 on radio shack or truck stop. We have a stereo shop in our area that carries CBs too.

thanks for all the help guys. i have a nice cobra cb but could never find the antenna. is it true i need to have it tuned or is it plug and play?

you need to tune it correctly.
follow the instructions on the packet that the antenna comes in, or go over to the electrical section here and look for "swr" in the forum.... http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f20/ martin

so, i was at wally world today. I stand corrected..they do sell cb's at canadian wally worlds....'xept that x19 rig is $89 Cdn..thats about $100 US. I think I'll get that one from radio world........they definately don't sell guns there anymore....

X2 on the Wilson 4 foot.
 My external PA speaker is just zip tie mounted under the hood, but it gets all full of mud and then you cant hear it. |

i more quick question for the all knowings out there, i want to get one of the K40 super flexes because i have heard alot of good things but i still have 2 questions. 1.) how much does the length effect how far your CB will pick up and transmit to and how clear it is. and 2.) if i mount it inside of my soft top and strap it to the roll bar bending around will it negatively effect my transmit/receive distance and clarity? THANKS!!!
