Can anyone tell me why I would want to install a cat back system instead of just buying a high performance muffler like a FlowMaster. It seems cheaper to just buy the muffler and use my exsisting tailpipes. Thanks for the ideas.

Biggest advantage are cat-back systems are typically bolt on and therefor can be installed by your average DIY'er, as opposed to having to have access to a welder.
