Cast your vote here for the Nov '09 YJ of the Month Contest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The list is in and on with the voting. Good luck to all that entered. For those of you that did not make it in, fear not, there will be a significant rule change for next months. You will get your chance. Rusty

Entry 1) Jeffro95

1995 YJ
4 inch Rubicon Express lift.
5/8" MORE boomerang shackles
33 x 12.5 x 15 TrXus MTs
Aussie locked D30
4.0 / 5-speed
custom built rear bumper / tire carrier
some lights, some recovery points, seat covers, cb, hi-lift and a Trailmax II back seat with headrests for the kids.

I've had this Jeep for three years and have loved every minute of it. It takes almost all the abuse I throw at it, and still acts as my daily driver. I'd like to upgrade the rear axle (D35) and get ARB's front and rear someday.

Entry 4) mudcrawler90

My father and I got this Jeep 1990 YJ last November. It had been sitting in the previous owner drive way for three years torn apart and in the middle of a SOA. We traded a 1996 Chevy S-10 straight up for it. It already had a custom front bumper and Smittybilt rear, as well as a 2" shackle kit. After, restoring it over the winter (only on weekends due to work and school) it now looks like this. The first thing we did was pull the axels out (Dana 35 and HP30), check for any damage, finish the SOA and POR-15 the axels. Then the bottom of the body was sprayed with rust stopping spray paint, the frame and front bumper are painted with POR-15, all the carpet was ripped out and replaced with black Raptor Liner. The gas tank was replaced due to some rust issues on the old one. New brake lines, calipers, disks/drums, and proportioning valve were next. After a new battery we did all the usual motor maintenance, (oil, antifreeze, clutch fluid, etc.). All the work was done by my father and I, it was a great learning experience for me and it turned out better than either of us expected.
All of the other mods came along he way:
Smittybilt XRC rocker guards
Gen-Right stubby corner guard
Rough Country sway bar disconnects
A 1999 TJ roll Cage w/ sound bar and custom rear hoop
Smittybilt XRC 8 winch and cover
JB 4x4 high steer bracket
32" BFG Mud Terrains on Pro Comp Rock Crawler Wheels
This YJ is daily driven and is wheeled at least twice a month It was a good time to build and hope everyone enjoys.

Info
-Well this is my first Jeep and I've got the fever for life. I bought this YJ about a year ago and it had the lift and tires and some odds and ends but I've done alot of it myself like the armor and tube fenders [got a heckuva deal at JeepFest in Atl]. I am a college student and I'm poor cause all my money I spend on Jeep stuff. I am waiting till i get out of school before I swap in a 8.8 with ected locker in the rear, and a aussie up front with 4.88's. I try to build more than i buy, gives me more pride in it. I'm in the process of building a roofrack modeled after the garvin, and some other stuff. I plan on having this jeep the rest of my life and passing it down to my kids one day.

Entry 6) Matt

Im 15 going on 16 pretty soon and I've been working my tail end off to save up for my 1st vehicle. Ive been wanting a jeep sometime and watching craigslist like a hawk all year trying to find something different than everybody else. I was trying to find something that was already lifted. Then i came across this jeep. Its a 1993 Jeep Wrangler Renegade. It has newer straight six with about 40k on it. The jeep itself had about 140000.

Mods that i have now.
- 6 inch suspension lift
-35x12.50 Goodyear Wrangler MT
-Throttle Body Spacer
-K&N Air Intake
-Alpine Audio System
-Center Console
-Bed lined Interior
And I'm sure a few things I am forgetting...

Plans for the future...

-Rear Dana 60
-Detroit lockers front/rear
-36in TSL's
-Front Stinger
-Rear Stinger/Tire Carrier
-383 Stroker

Entry 7) yjbleu

- Kenwood sound system
-Hid 5000 K with custum projectors retrofit and hid projector auxiliary light pair

Here are the 2 pics :

Entry 8) sidewinder

this is my baby. 1994 jeep wrangler. I got it from an ex girlfriends mom who traded it to me for my 1996 gmc Jimmy because she needed an auto for her daughter to drive. The jeep had belonged to her decieced husband (gf's step dad). Anyways it had been sitting for a few years and everyone they knew had offered to buy it from them, but I was the first to get up under it and change fluids and get things in working order. She swapped it with me and the fun began. At first I was more than happy with the 3" bl and 32" ats, but ignorance was bliss and the more I looked into things the more I wanted to do to my jeep. I got on jeepforum and learned a lot and decided to go SOA. This is how ol' jethro sits now. Maybe not too fancy but he's a hoss.

-soa with stock springs
-rubicon express monotube shocks
-4.56yukon gears
-d30 front Aussie locked
-8.8 rear ls with discs
-3" bl still. Waiting for a chance to put my 1" bl on
-15x8 crager soft 8s
-35x12.5x15 bfg km2s
-jb conversions steering braket
-jb conversions sye
-xj front driveshaft cv for the rear
-MORE traction bar
-banks header and exhaust
-rugged ridge front and rear tubular bumpers
-full doors and hardtop bought after market
-security console with kenwood headunit and kicker 10"sub

I've put a lot of money into this thing and I'm not even close to being done, but I think it's come along nicely since I got it in high school and am a broke college student thanks for your consideration guys.

Entry 9) jerryjeeper

1990 YJ Wrangler with serious off-road modifications including: 350 Chevy V8 with auto transmission, twin stick transfer case, long arm unique three point rear axle suspension and springs resulting in about 6” lift. The Jeep has been built for heavy duty durability and performance. One ton rated Dana 44 front axle and GM 14 bolt rear with lockers and four wheel disc brakes. Wheels are 20” American Racing Mojave simulated beadlocks with 39.5” IROCs. Swing away spare tire, on-board air, full roll cage, rockcrawler bumpers, winch and a killer stereo along with storage system for off road recovery equipment and tools. Bestop wide TJ style flares and a custom cowl induction hood scoop/vent make this JEEP a unique ride with great off-road capability and the civility to drive on the street.

Entry 10) 4bangerYJ

I bought my YJ in Oct 95 off the dealer lot. It is the S model. It was very plain, didn't come with a radio. I have been building it ever since. I don't trailer or tow my Jeep to and from the trails. I have driven it all over the West from mild to wild. Even thou it has the 2.5L it gets down the road just fine. It goes from .3 MPH on the trail to 70+ MPH on the freeway.

List of Goods:

Motor: 2.5L 62mm TB, 19# Design III injectors( I know but I love it)

Front axle: HP D44 from a 77 F250 narrowed to Waggy width. Alloy USA shafts, Bobby Long joints, Detroit, Warn Premium hubs, 5.38 Richmond gears,Riddler cover (the shafts, gears, lockouts, and ball joints have been cryo'ed for added strength)
Steering: GM TRE's and 1.25 DOM with 1 inch .120 sleeved inside.
Rear axle: 87 XJ D44. Alloy USA dual pattern 30 spline shafts, Detroit, 5.38 gears, Crane cover. (the shafts have been cryo'ed)
Tires and wheels: 37 inch MT/R's custom grooved. Mickey Thompson wheels 15 x 8 5 on 5.5 pattern.
Genright rockers, front tube fenders, and gas tank.
PSC corner gaurds.
Cage: Smittybilt front hoop with added spreaders and Rockhard rear bar.
Winch: Warn M8000 with Viking rope.
Suspension: Deaver springs front and rear. Rears are 55 inches long and the front eye has a triple wrap. Bilstien shocks (5100 front and 5125 rears)
Bumpers: home made front and rear aswell as the tire carrier.
Under armour: Skidrow engine skid, custom crossmember to protect the Klune and D20.
Wheelbase has been stretched to 98 inches. The rear spring shackles are hung off the back bumper.
The drivetrain has been moved 4 inches forward for better weight ratio front to rear.
OBA: I have a Viair 400 and a MV1050 to help speed up air up times. Each pump does 2 tires.
OBW: I carry a Readywelder for any welding needs.
Seats: PRP daily drivers
Crawl ratio: 208:1

They are 4.5inch lift. I run a longer shackle in the rear since they are pretty soft and with all my gear loaded it sits low. I cut as much sheet metal as I could. It rides like a Caddy!
