reading the small instead of big (kms to mph) means if you make a mistake at least you'll be driving slower than the posted limit
Here in Canada I drive a '65 Stang which has only mph. I can't tell you the number of times I've sped off down the road before realizing I was going too fast (honest officer .. )

Just change the facing of the speed it cost almost nothing or leave it as is you can just read the small number and after a week you get used to it. Now I was wonder why the hell someone would think that the voltage indicator would have a different unit cause the only damb unit to mesure voltage is in VOLTS lol. As for the YJ's with d44's in canada I've only seen one around here and never really heard about the dealers offering them with d44's. It would have been a nice thing though if they did.

What about emissions?

This is interesting - back when the dollar/cd$ exchange was so wonky, I was considering buying a Canadian used CAR over there and bringing it back. There were some bargains in the Fort Erie area....

The dollar/canadian $$ relation is going to fluxuate again, bank on it. It would be great to be poised to save some money.

Well like I said [QOUTE]Voltage is universal I believe *correct me if im wrong people*[/QUOTE]

I do not know about your jeep, but mine *canadian* does not indicate what the measuring units are with the exception of the speedo.

My YJ from Canada has the oil pressure and temp in metric measurements. Volts are obviously the same as the US YJs.

I also have Daytime Running Lights (DRLs)
and a factory engine heater plug thing.

thanks for all the info guys. I have checed with a garage here in PA that deals with a lot of eropean cars and they said the spedo will pass inspection even if it it in km's. according to Penn Dot i have to pay no duty all i have to do is pay Pa state tax. Correct them if they are wrong cause it just seems to easy to me. I am going up to look at it this weekend and hopfully all goes well then i will finally be a YJ owner.
