Canada jeep?

I am looking at a '92 I4/5spd.
I decoded the VIN, and it says it's canadian...
Anybody know what's up?
First digit on the VIN is 2

Most YJ's were produced in canada

Quote from Jeepwiki: From 1987 until 1992 the Wrangler/YJ was built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

they used to build them about 5 miles from where I grew up in Brampton Ontario. The renegades would then get a road trip down to the US to get the $4000 plastic package bolted on...

So that's what that shade is!
Thank you.

Mine is a Canadian model as well.
As far as any history is concerned, I don't believe it has ever been owned out of Ga.

So it seems! Mine was made in Bramalea Plant in 1989. Was kinda wondering why there's a maple leaf sticker on the driver's side door near the locking mechanism.. And I always thought they're made in the US.

A silver and black maple leaf sticker, or a maple leaf inside the vin sticker inside the door, signifies that the vehicle was made FOR the canadaian market regardless of where it was assembled. A red maple leaf on a white background sticker does not mean it was built for canada, just assembled there for another country, typically the US. The first number of the vin denotes what country it was assembled (1&4-US, 2-Canada, 3-Mexico, there are others but you get what i mean). You can also tell if the vehicle is canadian (or any other market) by looking at the emmissions sticker under the hood.

These rules apply to all vehicles, so when you are shopping for any vehcile be cautious of a seemingly low mile vehicle. It may have had the odometer cluster switched and mileage not correctly coverted or zeroed out all together....

Also on a jeep built for Canadian market, there is a good chance that the speedo will be written in km/h, with smaller numbers for mph. Also it will count the distance in km, not miles

That is the easiest way to tell!!! Many have since been converted which you would have to go by the emissions sticker or vin sticker...
