can 4-5" lift with no sye cause tire cupping?

I have around 4-5" of lift and my rear 33"s seem to be cupping real bad. I know I need a sye. I am wondering if there is more of a problem, has anybody been able to resolve cupping issues. I have changed shocks three times.

your "rear" are cupping?!!?! thats a first!!! only way i see it happeneing is if your dog legging it down the street,

bent axle, or suspension components, the SYE has nothing to do with it

were they always on the rear? or did you do a rotation recently and just didnt notice?

what name brand tires are they? tires cup due to toe in and/or +/- caster/camber, trying to push into themselves causing the knobbies to stretch cause they got hot, thats highly unlikely in the rear unless (highly unlikely) BOTH your rear axle flanges are bent causing the rear tires to toe in or out

edit:
just read you have baja claws
thats a good tire, unlikely that you have a bad set

What is cupping? My tires are wearing ALOT more on the back of the lug than the front.... They look slash cut toward the rear. Is this cupping? Will a alignment fix it? Hope this contributes to the thread.

a year or so after i had my gears and lockers installed i started to get a vibration that got worse over time. after much digging around i realized that the lug studs were loose. i thought that the flanges might be bent so i took them out and had them machined, which seemed to help. i tried to run my tires backwards to see if that would reverse the cupping damage- really, really loud that way. once a tire starts cupping is it going to keep on cupping. oh, the machine shop said they were both warped/ bent.

Have you checked the balance on them?? Also check for play on the axles up ,down ,in ,out evn a minor click with no load on them can cause all sorts of problems.

unfortunatly for sears, they offered me a lifetime balancing option once and i make them wish they didn't. i have also taken them to a place that our company uses for our big international trucks. they said i had one tire tat was beyond balancing. they both have some in and out play but isn't that the norm with c-clips. i have a 9" and a d44 in the garage which i hope to get set up soon, but if not i don't want to throw a bunch of money at new tires an have them wear out early.
