Can a 4.0 timing chain set be used on a 4.2?

Tried a search but found nothing. I have a double roller set for a 4.0 (mopar part #p5249519) and want to put it on my 258 4.2 engine. Do they use the same timing set? Thanks

I'm showing different part numbers.

Hit advanceautoparts.com or napa site and search for 90 4.2 and 91 4.0 you'll see different part numbers

I believe they have a different tooth count.
That said the ratio should stay the same.
When I built my stroker I used the 4.0 timing set on the 4.2 crank, everything went together just fine.
My informed guess is yes it should work.

Hmm, i was going to guess that the chains may be different widths, but based off 4.7stroker's comment, I guess not.

Other then that and maybe a difference in tooth count i dont see how else they could be different

I called Cloyes and bought a dual roller set when building my 4.6 stroker , they said the same set fit both 4.2 and 4.0 HO. As 4.7 stroker said "used a 4.2 crank and 4.0 cam and it worked".
