Calling all chevy TPI Swaps

The donor camaro had a 4PPM VSS. Im now running a VSS with a 40 tooth reluctor ring. The engine will start and run fine until I try to move. Then the engine dies. I unhook the VSS and it runs all day, but I throw code 24 (VSS). What did you guys do for installing the VSS and making it work in your swaps?

Thanks!

I used the Painless 60116 speed sensor hooked between the speedometer cable and transfer case, but I am using a 700R4.

Yeah the problem with that for me is I have the JB super short SYE for the 241C and it only accepts reluctor ring style vss not gear driven.

I would call JB and see what they have to say. Maybe they have a different tone ring or sensor that might work.

From talking to the guys over at the thirdgen forum I think a Dakota digital SGI-5 will be the best solution. I think this can be useful to other engine swap applications requiring VSS. Here is a pic and link.

Dakota has some pretty good stuff. Not a bad price either to cure your problem.
