bumper bolts

So the stock rusty tow hooks had sheared off long ago and I am in the process of putting on my metalcloak bumper. Both bolts are sheared. If I drill them out, how do I make new threads in that welded nut?

I would just knock it through and put in new nuts. You just need to tack weld it in place to hold it long enough to get the bolts started. For that matter you could glue it in.

Ok yeah that makes sense now. Should I just replace the torx bolts on bottom with hex? Thanks.

Yes, replace all of the bolts with hex grade 8 and you will be good.
