Found it in the back yard of a farmer by me truck was truck was wrecked and striped down

ok what engine is that?
That's a basic first generation engine with swirl port heads. 1993 is not Vortec (check wikipedia). Beyond that you can tell by the valve covers and the old-fashioned/ugly placement of the exhaust ports. The LT1 (2nd gen) looks the same but has never been installed in a truck from the factory. Plus the LT1 has a mini-ram intake and no distributor.

you lucked out pretty good with those finds or steals whatever you want to call it. if you didnt figure out the wiring harness yet. try using mitchell on-demand (if available) or buy a chiltons book on the truck you got the engine/trans from. good luck...........

I would save some money and leave the chevy engine for the chevy's. Good luck on it anyway!!!!

Oh tracing wires and cutting unneeded 1 or 2 more days and will be ready to test fire the engine. Any one have any Asprin??? I am having dreams of multi colored worms....

Stated the day pulling my Transphere case and cleaning it so its ready for rebuild when parts get in.



The rest of the day was pulling what ever i dont think i need and getting ready to pull the 4 banger out.




Cant figerwhat this box is in the middle of my fire wall. a vacum line and some wires go to so doughti need.




will have more picks tomarrow. hope to have engien out.

That thing in the last pic is your MAP sensor. Since your putting a whole new engine and stuff in anyway, you dont need that anymore.

with the wifes help by lunch i have gotten the engine out. now to start all the fabercation work. pull the hard top so i can make the cage. and all the custom wiring. here is this mornings pics.

Got the dash out. now i just have to figer out how to remove the heater. I discovered it is full of dirt. no wonder it didnt work

Finaly got my heater out to day and need to find one in a junk yard. Work will slow down now that i can start my spring work in the feilds
