Brake Question

Brake pedal had been getting soft. Now I have to pump twice to build up
pressure. If I just pump once pedal goes to the floor and e-brake light
comes on. If I pump twice no light.

Shoes and pads in decent shape

Do you think it's the MC or the booster or both ?

any way to test ?

thanks

First you should check your brake fluid as stated earlier. If that's at a good level, try sitting in the seat and push the brake pedal and hold medium pressure on it. If the pedal fades to the floor, one of two things could be wrong. The plunger seal inside the master cylinder is shot or you have a fluid leak somewhere in the brake system. Check all your hard and soft lines for leakage, also remove your rear drums and look for wet areas around the wheel cylinders. If the leak is bad enough, you'll see fluid running down the inside of the tire. If there's no apparent leak, it's probably time to replace the master cylinder.
