Brake pedal stays down, won't come back up
Many of the threads I read started out with, "I did a search but couldn't..."
I did a search but couldn't find anything that would help me trouble shoot why when I press the brake pedal it stays down and won't come back up unless I reach down and grab it. Any suggestions?
It just all of a sudden happened.
The brakes work well and the peddle is firm, just like it should be, but the pedal won't return after it is depressed unless I grab it with my hand and pull it back. The brakes remain activated as long as the pedal is down. When I pull the pedal back up there isn't much resistence, and once back up, the pedal stays up and the the brakes do not drag.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, by the way it is a stock '92 YJ, 4 cyl. manual transmission
